About Al Mustapha Institute
The Institute takes its name from Mustapha which is the primary transliteration of the Arabic name, مصطفى, Mustapha. The name is an epithet of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Sallalahu Alaihi Wasalam) that means, The Chosen One.
Al Mustapha Institute was established as a not-for-profit organisation in 2001 to provide Islamic services, education and cultural support, welcoming people from all cultures who call Australia home. The services we provide are designed to help people connect with their faith, culture and wider community.
Al Mustapha Institute is a place where people from diverse cultural backgrounds can come together to connect, learn, and build a strong sense of community and belonging.
Al Mustapha Institute is located in Hillcrest, Brisbane, Australia.
Al Mustapha Institute is committed to ensuring that its policies and practices reflect a high standard of governance. The Board has adopted a comprehensive framework of Corporate Governance Guidelines, designed to balance properly, performance and conformance.
The Board of Directors provide their services free of charge and are accountable for the performance and governance of Al Mustapha Institute. Directors are responsible for implementing strategies and objectives, and for carrying out the management and control of Al Mustapha Institute daily affairs.
The Executive Board also volunteer their services to provide independent advice to the Board of Directors and assists with the implementation of Al Mustapha Institute’s strategies and policy initiatives.
