The Higher Islamic Studies Program (Ilm-e-Deen Degree) for Al Mustapha Institute was developed in response to a growing need for a substantive understanding of the Islamic faith and an application of Islamic foundations in today’s word. The lack of formally accredited Islamic courseware was also addressed. The program provides Islamic education within an Australian setting, while staying true to Islamic principles.
The program provides students with an advanced knowledge of Islam which includes a highly developed comprehension of the theological, jurisprudential, historical, contemporary and spiritual aspects of Islam. Islamic sciences are studied from both a classical and contemporary perspective and students graduate with the ability to write, read Arabic religious texts and an understanding of Arabic grammar and vocabulary. The course prepares students with an advanced insight of the Islamic faith which can prove valuable for further Islamic studies, or for a range of professions such as teachers, spiritual counselors and Moulanas.
